Energy Trade Shows UK 2027: Dates, Venues and Which Ones Suit Your Business

Key Takeaways

  • The 2027 UK energy calendar runs from Solar & Storage Live London at ExCeL (14–15 April) and All-Energy in Glasgow (12–13 May), through Utility Week Live at the NEC (25–26 May) and Global Offshore Wind at ExCeL (16–17 June), to SPE Offshore Europe in Aberdeen (7–9 September) and Solar & Storage Live UK at the NEC (21–23 September).
  • Match the show to the buyer: solar, storage and building-energy suppliers should start with the Solar & Storage Live shows, offshore wind supply chains with Global Offshore Wind, utility buyers with Utility Week Live, and offshore oil, gas and wider energy suppliers with Offshore Europe.
  • The market is moving in your favour. DESNZ’s Energy Trends reported renewables at a record 55.8% of UK electricity generation in the second quarter of 2026, with 66.3GW of installed renewable capacity, so buyers have projects to staff and supply.
  • Every one of these shows opens midweek, so your display has to arrive the week before, and Glasgow and Aberdeen add a longer courier journey for All-Energy and Offshore Europe.
  • An energy stand has to explain technology quickly. Lead with one headline claim, show the product or a scale model where you can, and keep a quiet corner for the one-to-one meetings that these shows are built around.

Energy buyers are specific and time-poor. A developer, utility or procurement manager walking a hall at the NEC or SEC has a short list of suppliers to see and a limited number of hours, so a stand at the wrong show, or the right show with a graphic that does not explain what you do in a glance, is easy to walk past. The prize is real: the UK Government’s clean energy jobs announcement says clean energy will bring 400,000 extra jobs by 2030, which points to a long pipeline of projects and suppliers.

This guide sets out the energy trade shows UK suppliers, developers and service companies should have in the diary for 2027: dates, venues, who each show suits and what to check before you commit. It is written for exhibitors choosing where to spend a budget, and it works equally well if you are a buyer or installer deciding which hall to visit.

What the energy market tells exhibitors in 2027

Renewables now supply most of the grid

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s Energy Trends report for September 2026 puts renewables at a record 55.8% of UK electricity generation in the second quarter of 2026, with installed renewable capacity of 66.3GW, up 4.2% on a year earlier. RenewableUK called renewables β€œthe backbone of our power system” when the first-quarter figures came out.

For an exhibitor, that means more developers, more grid connections and more installers to sell to. It also means more competitors in every hall, so the shows below are where you win attention rather than just visibility.

A jobs and supply-chain story

The government’s plan expects clean energy employment to reach 860,000 by 2030, alongside the 400,000 extra jobs it announced, according to the same announcement. Those jobs sit with developers, network operators, manufacturers and installers, which are the buyers that energy trade shows are designed to gather in one place.

Three key figures for UK energy exhibitors: renewables at 55.8% of electricity generation in Q2 2026, 400,000 extra clean energy jobs targeted by 2030, and over 13,000 attendees at All-Energy 2025

Buyers still meet in person

All-Energy’s 2025 edition at the SEC in Glasgow drew over 13,000 attendees and 300 exhibiting organisations, according to the venue’s case study. Exhibitors say much the same about the offshore wind calendar.

β€œGlobal Offshore Wind is the standout event in the calendar for our sector.”

That comment was made about the 2026 event, but it is typical of how established suppliers talk about their anchor show: a fixed point in the year where meetings are booked and relationships renewed.

The top UK energy trade shows for 2027

Solar & Storage Live London: 14–15 April 2027, ExCeL London

Event: Solar & Storage Live London, with Climatech London

Venue: ExCeL London

Date: Wednesday 14 to Thursday 15 April 2027

Best for: Solar, battery storage and building-energy suppliers

Run by Terrapinn, Solar & Storage Live London is co-located with Climatech London, which covers the full building energy journey including heating, cooling, ventilation and energy management. The organiser claims 10,000+ attendees without saying which year that refers to, and gives two different exhibitor figures (200+ and 250+), so ask for audited numbers.

Free tickets are offered to visitors, though the page does not state who qualifies. The page header gives 14–15 April while its footer says 13–14 April, so confirm the dates with the organiser before you commit. This is a good fit if your buyers are commercial building owners, installers and energy managers who need to see a product in context.

All-Energy: 12–13 May 2027, SEC, Glasgow

Event: All-Energy

Venue: SEC, Exhibition Way, Glasgow

Date: Wednesday 12 May (08:30–18:00) and Thursday 13 May 2027 (08:30–16:00)

Best for: Renewable and low-carbon energy suppliers, developers and policy audiences

All-Energy is run by RX and describes itself as the UK’s renewable and low-carbon energy exhibition. The programme includes a strategic summit, show floor theatres, workshops and a Meet the Buyer programme, and the organiser says about 70% of its visitors work in management, sales or procurement.

The organiser’s page lists 13,300+ energy professionals and 310+ exhibiting companies for its last edition, without a year, which is consistent with the 2025 figures above. Because Glasgow sits a long way from most English manufacturers, build extra time into delivery of your display and graphics.

Utility Week Live: 25–26 May 2027, NEC, Birmingham

Event: Utility Week Live

Venue: NEC, Birmingham

Date: Tuesday 25 to Wednesday 26 May 2027

Best for: Suppliers to electricity, gas and water utilities

Utility Week Live is organised by Faversham House and covers the wider utilities sector, so it suits you if network operators and water and energy retailers are your customers rather than project developers. The organiser cites 4,500 utilities professionals as visitors but does not tie the figure to a year.

Registration opens in December, according to the page, and it does not state whether admission is free. Utility buyers tend to walk the floor with a specific problem in mind, so a stand that names the problem you solve will earn more conversations than one that lists every product.

Global Offshore Wind: 16–17 June 2027, ExCeL London

Event: Global Offshore Wind (RenewableUK)

Venue: ExCeL London

Date: Wednesday 16 to Thursday 17 June 2027

Best for: Offshore wind developers, contractors, manufacturers and start-ups

Global Offshore Wind is RenewableUK’s flagship event. Its β€œWhat to expect in 2027” section lists 5,200+ attendees, 230+ speakers, 300+ exhibitors and 45+ countries, while another page on the same site cites over 250 exhibitors in 2026, so treat the 2027 numbers as the organiser’s target rather than a result.

For smaller suppliers, the Start-Up Zone package is listed at Β£2,095 + VAT for RenewableUK members and Β£2,410 + VAT for non-members, including two exhibitor passes. If your product is an offshore component or service, this is the most targeted audience on the calendar, and a modest stand can still look credible beside the large developers.

SPE Offshore Europe: 7–9 September 2027, P&J Live, Aberdeen

Event: SPE Offshore Europe (Offshore Europe 2027)

Venue: P&J Live, Aberdeen

Date: Tuesday 7 to Thursday 9 September 2027 (09:30–17:00 daily)

Best for: Offshore energy operators, contractors and supply-chain exporters

Offshore Europe is built by RX in partnership with the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is the upstream and offshore energy industry’s Aberdeen show. The Energy Industries Council’s 2027 pavilion brochure cites 30,000+ visitors, 800+ exhibitors and 70 countries, but the organiser’s own page gives no figures, so treat these as promotional claims.

The brochure says the EIC pavilion offers stand packages and one-to-one meetings, which can suit UK exporters who want a ready-built presence. If you take a stand of your own, remember that Aberdeen is a long courier run from the south, and the show is a good deal larger than most on this list.

Solar & Storage Live UK: 21–23 September 2027, NEC, Birmingham

Event: Solar & Storage Live UK

Venue: NEC, Birmingham

Date: Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 September 2027

Best for: Solar, battery storage, grid and EV charging suppliers

Terrapinn’s Solar & Storage Live listing shows the UK show at the NEC from 21 to 23 September 2027, while the London page still lists the 2026 edition as 22–24 September 2026. In 2026 it ran alongside EVCharge Live UK, according to Electrical Review, so check whether that co-location repeats.

We did not find audited visitor or exhibitor figures for the UK show on the organiser’s pages. Ask for them, along with the hall plan and stand prices, before you decide between the April London show and the September NEC show.

How to choose the right energy show

Start with who buys from you

Visitor numbers matter less than whether the people walking past can say yes. Look at your last ten orders and note whether each came from a developer, a utility, an installer, a contractor or a distributor, then match the show to the buyer rather than the other way round.

If you sell to… Start with Why
Commercial building owners and installers Solar & Storage Live London (with Climatech) The co-located Climatech show covers heating, cooling, ventilation and energy management
Renewable developers and policy audiences in Scotland All-Energy Programme includes a strategic summit and Meet the Buyer
Water, gas and electricity utilities Utility Week Live Organised by the Utility Week brand for the utilities sector
Offshore wind developers and contractors Global Offshore Wind RenewableUK’s flagship event with a Start-Up Zone for smaller firms
Offshore oil, gas and wider energy operators SPE Offshore Europe Built by RX with the Society of Petroleum Engineers in Aberdeen

Set a target before you pay for space

Decide what a good show looks like in numbers: booked meetings, qualified leads, first orders. Divide your total cost of exhibiting, including space, stand, travel, accommodation and staff time, by your average first order value to see how many new accounts you need to break even. Our exhibition stand cost guide shows what the stand itself typically adds to that figure.

Match the stand to the floor

Check whether your space is a shell scheme or a space-only plot. A shell scheme gives you panels to attach graphics to, usually with hook-and-loop strips, so shell scheme graphics must be cut to the exact panel sizes. A space-only plot lets you build freestanding walls and counters, and our exhibition displays by stand size are a practical way to see what fits a 3m or 6m frontage.

Making an energy stand work harder

  • Explain the technology in a line. Visitors scan fast, so put one headline claim and one proof point at eye level and leave the detail for the conversation or a datasheet.
  • Show the real thing where you can. A component, sample or scale model gives people something to pick up. If your product is too big to bring, a clear photograph of an installation does more than a diagram.
  • Light your graphics. A backlit display makes a headline panel stand out in a large hall, and our guide to exhibition stand lighting covers the options.
  • Plan for meetings. These shows run on booked conversations, so leave space for a small table and chairs, and a printed counter gives your team a place to scan badges and hand out literature.
  • Give literature a home. A brochure stand or tablet holder keeps datasheets and QR codes within reach.
  • Show your sustainability thinking. Energy buyers notice how a stand is built, and our guide to eco-friendly exhibition stands compares reusable displays and fabric against PVC.

Preparing your display for a 2027 show

Production and dispatch typically take five to seven business days from the next working day after you order and approve your proof. Express is quoted at around four to five business days and costs extra. Larger builds such as long backlit lightbox runs are quoted at 10 to 12 business days. Your order confirmation shows the dispatch date, and if Backdropsource misses it, the order is upgraded to expedited shipping at its cost.

Couriers set the transit time, so aim for delivery a few days before you need the goods, and add more for Glasgow and Aberdeen. Every show here opens on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and carriers deliver Monday to Friday, so deliver the week before. Most displays are tool-free and freestanding, and our exhibition stand checklist covers packing, setup and breakdown. If you are travelling with the stand, a portable exhibition display packs into a bag and fits in a car boot.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Booking the biggest show by default. A large hall with the wrong buyers is an expensive way to be ignored.
  • Treating all energy audiences as one. A water utility, an offshore wind developer and a solar installer need different things from a stand, so check who the visitor profile actually lists.
  • Trusting undated figures. Several organisers publish attendance numbers with no year, so ask for audited figures.
  • Designing before you know the stand type. A graphic for a space-only plot will not fit shell scheme panels.
  • Leaving artwork late. Late files cause most dispatch slips. Our first-time exhibitor checklist covers what to prepare and when, and our trade show marketing guide covers what to do before and after the show.

Your pre-show checklist

  1. List your last ten orders and identify the buyer type for each.
  2. Shortlist two or three shows and confirm the 2027 dates on the organiser’s page.
  3. Ask for audited visitor figures, the floor plan and the exhibitor manual.
  4. Confirm the stand type (shell scheme or space only) and the exact dimensions.
  5. Choose one headline message and the products or samples that go on display.
  6. Request a free 2D mockup and approve the proof early.
  7. Tell your supplier the show date and agree a dispatch date in writing.
  8. Plan delivery for the week before the show, with extra time for Scotland.
  9. Book meetings before the show and set a lead target for each day.
  10. Set an order or meeting target and a follow-up plan for every lead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are UK energy trade shows free to attend? +
It depends on the show. Solar & Storage Live London links to free tickets, though its page does not say who qualifies, while the pages for All-Energy, Utility Week Live, Offshore Europe and Global Offshore Wind did not state attendee prices when we checked. Most pages ask you to register interest first. Read the admissions policy for each show and register early, because eligibility rules for trade events vary.
Which UK energy show suits a small start-up? +
Global Offshore Wind lists a Start-Up Zone package from Β£2,095 + VAT for RenewableUK members, including two exhibitor passes, which gives a smaller supplier a defined space. At Offshore Europe, the Energy Industries Council pavilion offers stand packages and one-to-one meetings for UK exporters. Visiting a show as a visitor first, if the dates allow, is a low-cost way to judge the fit.
Do these shows include conferences as well as exhibitions? +
Several do. All-Energy lists a strategic summit, show floor theatres, workshops and a Meet the Buyer programme, and Global Offshore Wind lists 230+ speakers for 2027. That matters for stand planning, because many visitors move between sessions and the hall, so a clear headline and a space for short conversations will serve you better than a long product demonstration.
What should an energy stand show if the product is too big to bring? +
Use a scale model, a component sample or a large photograph of the product installed in a real setting. Add one proof point, such as a capacity or a project name you are allowed to quote, and a QR code to a datasheet. A short loop on a tablet can show installation or operation without taking floor space, and a backlit display helps the hero image stand out in a busy hall.
How early should I order a display for a May show? +
Aim to approve artwork at least four to six weeks before the show. Production and dispatch typically take five to seven business days from proof approval, longer for large backlit builds. Carriers deliver Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm and someone must sign, so plan delivery the week before, with extra time if the show is in Glasgow or Aberdeen. Tell your supplier the show date when you order so a dispatch date and any express option can be planned.
