Six fabrics let you match the flag to your budget and your event, from the most recommended 110g Knitted Polyester to a bright fluorescent option.
If you are preparing a marketing display for the night, the 115g Fluorescent Polyester is highly recommended.
Single-sided printing puts your design on the front of one piece of fabric, and double-sided printing puts it on the front and the back.
You can choose from eight sizes and more: 2.4 m, 2.7 m, 3.4 m, 4 m, 4.6 m, and 4.9 m, as well as custom sizes.
Five hardware packages let you choose just the pole and spike, or add a cross base and a water bag, so you can pick what suits your display.
If you want a thicker, more opaque flag, an interlayer can be sewn in, with two interlayer fabrics to choose from.
The flag is washable, so it can be cleaned and reused.

Finishing

The flag is printed in full color on your choice of fabric, single sided or double sided. All of our flags are washable with cold water and mild detergent, and should be air dried or iron dried at a low setting. The life span of the flag depends on both display and storage conditions, so make sure the whole piece is clean and dry before storage.

Why would I pick a convex feather flag over a straight one?

A convex feather flag has a rounded, outward-curving edge that gives the fabric a wave-like outline as it moves. People often choose it as a curved feather flag when they are surrounded by lookalike banners, at a trade show, on a busy high street or along a line of other stalls.

It still does the same job as any custom feather flag: a tall, light display that carries your logo and message without a wall or a power supply. The curve simply changes the silhouette, so yours is not mistaken for the neighbour's.

Compare it side by side with the straight feather flag if you are unsure the curve is worth it.

Will a curved edge change how my artwork looks?

Yes, a little, and it is worth planning for. The curved edge trims the corners of the print area compared with a plain rectangle, so artwork running to the very edge can lose a bit.

Keep logos and text comfortably inside the main body of the flag. Let background colour or pattern run all the way to the edge, with 2.5cm bleed on every side. Avoid placing a small detail, such as a phone number, right on the curve. What size convex flag do I need?

The same seven heights are on offer, running from 1.8m up to 4.9m. As a guide:

Which fabric works best for a feather flag banner?

There are several fabrics to choose from, each in single-sided and double-sided versions.

110g knitted polyester is the most recommended, for indoor and outdoor use.

100D polyester is the economical choice. 115g knitted polyester and 130g shiny knitted polyester suit different looks and handling. 210D Oxford is the strong, durable option. 115g fluorescent knitted polyester in yellow or orange helps with night-time visibility, though screens cannot show the effect and the print may differ slightly. The mesh fabric offered on some sibling shapes is not listed for this one, so check the printing menu on the page when you order.

Which hardware should I add?

You can order the flag alone, or pick a hardware option that includes a pole and a packing bag with a ground spike, a cross base, or a cross base with water bag. A ground spike suits soft ground, a cross base suits pavements and hard surfaces, and a water bag adds weight when the ground is hard.

For a flag that will be seen from both sides of a walkway, the double sided convex flag carries your artwork on both the front and the back, and the free 2D mockup shows how each side will look.

Is the convex shape worth it at a trade show or on a high street?

A shape only earns its keep when it is seen next to others. In a row of identical straight banners, a curved outline breaks the pattern and the eye lands on it first. On a lone forecourt with nothing to compete against, the extra effect is smaller and a plainer flag may do the same job.

Three quick questions help you decide.

Will other flags or banners be close by? Will the flag be seen mostly moving? A curve looks best with some breeze. Is your logo round or soft-edged? Curves echo rounded logos and can clash with sharp, angular ones. If the answers are mixed, email support@backdropsource.co.uk and ask for a mockup of the same artwork on two shapes. Seeing them together usually settles it in a minute.

Can I order matching flags in different sizes? +

Yes. Many buyers use two heights side by side so the display has a stepped look. Upload one set of artwork and tell us the sizes you are ordering, and the proof can show each flag so the logo sits well on both.

Does the colour on screen match the printed flag? +

Screens vary, so colours can look slightly different on fabric. Supply your artwork in CMYK and ask your designer for any brand colour reference. For fluorescent fabrics the difference can be larger, because a screen cannot show that glow.

Is the fabric safe to leave outside overnight? +

Fabric flags are designed for outdoor events, but long-term outdoor display wears any fabric. Take it down in storms, and wash it in cold water with mild detergent if it gets muddy. Air dry before packing it away.

What about delivery to Northern Ireland or abroad? +

Delivery is free and typically takes five to seven business days within the UK. International shipping is available too. If your venue is outside mainland Britain, mention it in your order notes or email support so timings can be confirmed.
