Travel Trade Shows UK 2027: Dates, Venues and Which Ones Suit Your Business

Key Takeaways

  • The 2027 UK travel calendar runs from the British Tourism & Travel Show at the NEC (11 March), through Business Travel Show Europe and The Meetings Show at ExCeL London (23–24 June) and the GLT Show at Arena MK (7 October), to WTM London at ExCeL in early November.
  • Match the show to the buyer. Coach, tour and group-travel buyers are at BTTS and the GLT Show, corporate travel and event planners at ExCeL in June, and international travel trade at WTM London.
  • Demand is steady. ONS estimates UK residents made 99.9 million visits abroad in 2025, and 70% of adults in an ABTA survey plan to travel abroad in the next 12 months, but 21% say they will book cheaper accommodation, so set a target for meetings booked before you pay for space.
  • A travel stand sells a place before it sells a product, so it needs large, bright destination imagery, somewhere to sit down with a buyer and a way to capture every contact.
  • Dispatch typically takes five to seven business days from proof approval. Most of these shows open midweek and couriers deliver Monday to Friday with a signature, so plan delivery for the week before and allow four to six weeks for artwork.

Travel buyers do not all walk the same halls. A coach operator planning next summer’s itineraries, a corporate travel manager and an events planner looking for a venue may each attend a different show in the same year. If you exhibit at the wrong one, you pay for space, stock and staff in front of the wrong audience.

This guide sets out the main UK travel trade shows for 2027 with dates, venues and audiences, then helps you choose between them and plan a stand that earns its cost.

What the travel market tells exhibitors in 2027

Britons still want to travel, but they are watching costs

The Office for National Statistics estimates that UK residents made 99.9 million visits abroad in 2025 and spent Β£86.2 billion. ONS describes these as official statistics in development, so treat them as a measure of scale rather than a trend.

ABTA’s Holiday Habits report for 2026/27, which polled more than 2,000 UK adults, found that 70% plan to travel abroad in the next 12 months, while 21% plan to book cheaper accommodation. ABTA’s chief executive Mark Tanzer summed up the mood: β€œWe continue to love our holidays”.

Inbound visitors support UK destinations

Overseas residents made an estimated 40.8 million visits to the UK in 2025 and spent Β£29.8 billion, according to ONS. VisitBritain’s latest forecast expects 44.2 million inbound visits in 2026, with visitors spending Β£33.9 billion. For attractions, hotels and destinations, that is the audience the shows below help you reach through tour operators and agents.

Three key figures for UK travel: 99.9 million visits abroad by UK residents in 2025, 70% of UK adults planning to travel abroad, and 680 pre-booked meetings at BTTS 2026
Key figures from ONS, ABTA (via Euronews) and the BTTS organisers, as cited in this guide.

Trade buyers still meet suppliers in person

The British Tourism & Travel Show’s organisers reported more than 225 exhibiting brands and 680 pre-booked meetings at the first one-day show in March 2026, with 95% of exhibitors rating the quality of visitors as excellent or good. Those are organiser figures, but they show what a working show looks like.

The top UK travel trade shows for 2027

British Tourism & Travel Show (BTTS): 11 March 2027, NEC Birmingham

Event: British Tourism & Travel Show (BTTS)

Venue: NEC Birmingham

Date: Thursday 11 March 2027

Best for: Attractions, destinations and hotels selling to coach and group-travel buyers

BTTS is a trade-only show for British and Irish tourism. Visit Wales describes it as the UK’s largest group travel trade event, with buyers from coach operators, tour operators, group organisers, travel agents and wholesalers to education, youth and sporting organisers. It says the 2026 show welcomed more than 2,000 attendees from 16 countries.

The 2026 edition moved to a single day, so a display that goes up quickly matters more than usual. The NEC’s own listing still showed the 2026 date when we checked, so confirm 11 March with the organiser.

Business Travel Show Europe: 23–24 June 2027, ExCeL London

Event: Business Travel Show Europe

Venue: ExCeL London

Date: Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 June 2027

Best for: Suppliers selling to corporate travel buyers

The organiser’s page lists the 2027 show at ExCeL on 23 and 24 June and says it has run for 32 years. Visitors can register as a buyer, a hosted buyer or a non-exhibiting supplier. The page gives no attendance or exhibitor figures, so ask for audited numbers before you commit.

It suits airlines, hotels, ground transport and booking technology suppliers selling to travel managers. A third-party listing places the TravelTech Show at ExCeL on the same dates, but we could not confirm it with its organiser.

The Meetings Show: 23–24 June 2027, ExCeL London

Event: The Meetings Show

Venue: ExCeL London

Date: Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 June 2027

Best for: Venues, hotels, destinations and suppliers selling to event planners

The Meetings Show lists its 2027 dates as Wednesday 23 June, 9:30am to 5:30pm, and Thursday 24 June, 9:30am to 5:00pm. Its 2026 figures are 1,181 buyers, 575 exhibitors and 4,292 unique attendees, and it describes its audience as event professionals, with hosted buyers alongside visitor buyers.

It is the show for venues, destination marketing bodies, hotels and conference suppliers who sell to corporate, association and agency planners. It shares dates and a venue with Business Travel Show Europe, so ask both organisers how visitors move between them.

GLT Show (Group Leisure & Travel): 7 October 2027, Arena MK, Milton Keynes

Event: GLT Show (Group Leisure & Travel)

Venue: Arena MK, Milton Keynes

Date: Thursday 7 October 2027

Best for: Attractions, theatres, hotels and cruise lines selling to group organisers

The GLT Show offers free admission to bona fide group travel organisers and coach operators, who meet attractions, theatres, tour operators, coach companies, river and cruise lines, hotels and tourist offices. The organiser has not published a visitor total.

It reports percentages from its own 2025 surveys instead: 94% of exhibitors said the show produced good leads for groups business. That is an organiser survey result, so treat it as a claim. If you sell group tours, day trips or group hospitality, it sits well beside BTTS in March.

WTM London: 2–4 November 2027 (provisional), ExCeL London

Event: WTM London

Venue: ExCeL London

Date: Tuesday 2 to Thursday 4 November 2027 (provisional; confirm on wtm.com)

Best for: Destinations, hotels and travel brands selling to international travel trade

WTM London describes itself as a global marketplace for travel professionals. Its page lists 180+ countries, 4,000+ exhibitors, 5,500+ buyers and 46,000+ attendees, but gives no year for those figures and shows only the 3–5 November 2026 dates. The 2027 dates here come from Atout France’s event listing, and another listing gives 3–5 November, so treat the dates as provisional until the organiser publishes them.

It is the largest travel show on this list by the organiser’s own numbers, and the one with the most international buyers. That scale usually means higher stand costs, so it suits destinations and brands that already sell through international operators and agents. For domestic or group-focused businesses, the smaller shows above are often a better return.

Consumer travel shows that travel brands also use

The shows below are aimed at holidaymakers rather than the trade. They suit tour operators, destinations and tourist boards that sell directly to the public.

Adventure Travel Show: 9–10 January 2027, Business Design Centre, London

Event: Adventure Travel Show

Venue: Business Design Centre, Islington, London

Date: Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January 2027

Best for: Small tour operators and destinations selling adventure and active holidays

The show has run since 1997 and lists more than 120 small tour operators and destinations. Its page sells tickets to the public. It suits small operators with a distinctive product, where a well-informed conversation on the stand turns into a booking.

Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show: 14–17 and 28–31 January 2027

Event: Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show (Manchester)

Venue: Manchester Central

Date: Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 January 2027

Best for: Tour operators and tourist boards selling to holidaymakers

Event: Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show (London)

Venue: Olympia London

Date: Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 January 2027

Best for: Tour operators and tourist boards selling to holidaymakers

The organiser’s site lists 600+ travel brands at the London show and more than 100 speakers. Breaking Travel News describes it as the UK’s largest and longest-running travel event, in association with The Times and The Sunday Times. Confirm both sets of dates before you book.

Also worth knowing: conventions without stands

Two industry events are delegate gatherings rather than stand-based shows. ABTA’s Travel Convention takes place in Montenegro from 4 to 6 October 2027, and the UKinbound Annual Convention is scheduled for February 2027 in Newcastle Gateshead. Both are for networking rather than printed stands.

How to choose the right travel show

Start with who books or buys from you

List your last ten bookings or contracts and note whether the buyer was a coach operator, tour operator, travel agent, corporate travel manager, event planner or member of the public. Then match each buyer type to a show in the table.

Check who can walk in and who is hosted

Some shows are trade only, some are free to registered buyers and some sell tickets to the public. Ask the organiser how many buyers are pre-booked into meetings and what share of visitors hold a purchasing role.

Set a target and a budget

Decide what a good show looks like before you book: a number of booked meetings, qualified leads or signed contracts. Space, stand build, graphics, staff time, travel and accommodation all add up, and our guide to what an exhibition stand costs in the UK breaks the costs down so you can compare a large show with a smaller, more targeted one.

New to exhibiting? Our first-time exhibitor checklist covers what to prepare, and small exhibition stand ideas helps if your plot is compact.

What a travel stand needs to do

Sell the place before the product

Travel buyers are choosing a destination, hotel or experience, so the first thing they see should show it. A full-height printed backdrop can carry one large photograph of your destination or property, and a tension fabric display gives you a large, smooth surface for it. Use one strong image and a short line of text, and send the largest file you have so it prints cleanly at scale.

If your plot is small or you need a quick set-up, such as at a one-day show, roll-up banners and portable exhibition displays go up fast and pack into a carry bag.

Plan for meetings, brochures and lead capture

Many travel conversations are pre-booked, so you need somewhere to sit. A printed counter gives you a working surface with storage behind it, brochure and tablet stands keep literature and a lead-capture tablet within reach, and a branded table cover turns a plain meeting table into part of your stand. Counter tops suit normal stand loads such as brochures, a tablet and a card machine, but not heavy equipment.

Use lighting to make the image carry

A backlit display gives a bright, even image that stands out in a large hall, which helps with landscape and resort photography. Our guide to exhibition stand lighting covers the options.

Shell scheme or space only

Many shows offer a shell scheme package, which is a standard set of walls and a fascia board, as well as space-only plots. If you take a shell scheme, shell scheme graphics let you dress the standard walls with your own artwork, and if you take space only, exhibition displays by stand size help you match a display to your plot. Confirm the exact dimensions with the organiser first.

Some venues ask for fire safety paperwork for fabric. Backdropsource prints on fire-retardant fabric, but the certificate a venue wants varies, so send the exact requirement before you order and the supplier will confirm in writing what can be provided for your product.

Preparing your display for a 2027 show

Production and dispatch typically take five to seven business days from the next working day after you order and approve your proof. Express is quoted at around four to five business days and costs extra. Your order confirmation shows the dispatch date, and if Backdropsource misses it, the order is upgraded to expedited shipping at its cost.

The trade shows above open on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm with a signature, so delivery has to land the week before. You can ship to the venue if you give the hall or stand number and an on-site contact with a mobile number, but check which dates the venue accepts deliveries. If it will not take goods early, send the display to your office first. Our exhibition stand checklist covers packing, setup and breakdown.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Choosing by headline attendance alone. A large figure is no use if few visitors buy what you sell. Ask which buyer types attend and how many are hosted or pre-booked.
  • Treating consumer and trade shows alike. A January consumer show and a March trade show need different messages, offers and staff.
  • Forgetting somewhere to sit. If your diary is full of booked meetings, a stand with no table slows every conversation.
  • Leaving artwork late. Late files are the usual reason a dispatch date slips. Our trade show marketing guide covers how to build your marketing around a show before you brief the designer.

Your pre-show checklist

  1. List your last ten bookings or contracts and note the buyer type for each.
  2. Shortlist two or three shows and confirm 2027 dates and venues on the organiser’s page.
  3. Ask for audited visitor figures, the buyer profile and the exhibitor manual.
  4. Confirm your stand type (shell scheme or space only) and exact dimensions.
  5. Plan meeting space, brochure holders and lead capture.
  6. Choose one strong destination image and send the highest-resolution file you have.
  7. Request a free 2D mockup and approve the proof early.
  8. Tell your supplier the show date and agree a dispatch date in writing.
  9. Plan delivery for the week before the show and confirm the venue’s delivery dates.

Talk to an expert before the 2027 calendar fills up

Choose the shows your buyers attend, plan the stand around one strong image and a place to talk, and give yourself time to approve artwork without rushing. If you want a second opinion on stand size, layout or artwork before you commit, book an expert consultation and tell us the show, the size of your space and the date your display needs to arrive. We can also show your artwork on the exact display size with a free 2D mockup. For any other question, contact our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the biggest travel trade show in the UK? +
By the organiser’s own figures, WTM London at ExCeL is the largest on this list, with 46,000+ attendees, 4,000+ exhibitors and 5,500+ buyers on its page. The page does not say which year those numbers cover and they are not audited. For a specific buyer type, such as coach operators, a smaller show like BTTS can produce more relevant conversations.
Are UK travel trade shows open to the public? +
The trade shows in this guide are not aimed at the public. BTTS is trade only with free registration, and the GLT Show offers free admission to bona fide group travel organisers and coach operators. The Adventure Travel Show and Destinations are aimed at holidaymakers and sell tickets, so check each organiser’s visitor page for who can register and what you need to bring.
Which show suits a small coach or tour operator? +
BTTS in March and the GLT Show in October are the closest fit, because both are built around coach operators, tour operators and group-travel organisers. If you sell direct to the public, the Adventure Travel Show and Destinations in January let you meet holidaymakers face to face. Check each organiser’s buyer profile and floor plan, and compare stand costs, before you choose.
Should I book a shell scheme or a space-only stand? +
A shell scheme is a standard package of walls and a fascia board, which keeps the cost and setup effort low, while space only gives you a blank plot to build on. Printed graphics can dress a shell scheme, and space only suits a freestanding display, but check the organiser’s height and construction rules first. Confirm the exact dimensions of your plot with the organiser before you order graphics.
Can I use the same display at more than one show? +
Yes, if you plan the logistics. A reusable frame lets you keep the structure and swap only the graphics, which suits a destination that exhibits at both a consumer show in January and a trade show in March. For shows only days apart, a second set of graphics is the safer option.
