Which accessories make the most difference to a small stand? +

On a 3m space, lighting and height do more than anything else. How do I light a fabric display without creating hot spots? +

Fabric graphics are matte, so they take light well, but a single bright fixture aimed straight at the middle will burn out the centre and leave the edges dark. Space LED Display Lights evenly across the top of the wall and angle them down the face of the graphic rather than into it. If your stand is at Olympia London or any hall with strong overhead lighting, walk out into the aisle once the lights are on and look at your own stand from where a visitor stands — that is the only test that counts.

Can I mount a screen on a portable display stand? +

What is the best way to display brochures without cluttering the stand? +

Vertical is better than horizontal. Stock the display lightly and refill it through the day — a full rack signals that nobody is taking anything. How do I secure a tablet for demos on a stand? +

Do shelves work on a tension fabric wall? +

They do, but not by hanging off the fabric. Consumables and spares. A spare extension lead, cable ties, a roll of gaffer tape, scissors, a microfibre cloth and a few spare graphic clips will save you at some point during a build. Add a small first-aid kit, a phone power bank and a bin for the back of the stand, since the venue will not empty it during show hours. Keep this kit permanently in one bag so nobody has to remember it before each event.

How do accessories travel between shows? +

Put them in a case rather than loose in the boot.
